Pyrosequencing result of the microbial fuel cell for treating domestic wastewater

This project aims to identify the microbial community in the air-cathode microbial fuel cells (MFCs) for treating domestic wastewater. Since domestic wastewater contains not only simple substrates but also highly complex organics, pre-acclimation strategies with pure substrate (e.g. acetate and glucose) are required. Thus, understaning the response of microbial community structure to pre-acclimation strategies is important to improve the performance of MFCs using domestic wastewater.
