To investigate the transcriptional dynamics of the breast tumor microenvironment, remnant surgical tissue from an AJCC stage III triple negative invasive ductal carcinoma resected at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center (WFBMC) in Winston Salem, NC, was accessed via Wake Forest University Health Sciences Institutional Review Board protocol IRB00048977 and expression profiled by single cell RNA sequencing. Approximately 770 high-quality cell expression profiles were identified. Overall design: A single fresh surgical specimen of primary breast tumor tissue was enzymatically dissociated to form a single cell suspension. The cells were processed on a 10X Genomics Chromium controller to generate a cDNA library, and the library was sequenced on an Illumina NextSeq 500.
