small non-coding RNA-seq was performed to study the transcriptomic changes in human lung tissue post infection with either Influenza A virus (IAV), or Pseudomonas aeruginosa (PA) or Mycobacterium bovis (BCG) Overall design: Human lung tissue explants tissue were further dissected into small pieces with an average size of approx. 27 mm3 (3x3x3 mm) and an average weight of approx. 30 mg. These pieces (HLTEs) were cultured in RPMI wither either of infection. Followed by 24 hour incubation with either of pathogens, tissue were collected for RNA extraction and sequencing.
