RNAseq Analysis of Chicory (Cichorium intybus)

This study investigates transcriptional changes during self- and non-self-pollen recognition in Cichorium intybus (chicory) using RNA-seq analysis. The goal is to identify candidate genes involved in pollen tube development and callose deposition, key processes in sporophytic self-incompatibility (SSI). These findings contribute to a deeper understanding of the molecular mechanisms underlying SSI, with potential implications for plant breeding and fertility management.
