ANALYSIS OF CHALLENGES IN MAINTAINING RURAL ROAD INFRASTRUCTURE IN UZBEKISTAN

Rural road infrastructure is one of the decisive physical foundations of inclusive economic growth, because it connects farms, makhallas, schools, health services, small enterprises and regional markets. In Uzbekistan, the maintenance of rural roads has become a particularly urgent research issue due to rapid motorization, climate variability, expansion of agricultural logistics, and the policy goal of improving the quality of life in remote settlements. This article analyses the main challenges that limit the sustainable maintenance of rural road infrastructure in Uzbekistan and identifies practical directions for strengthening asset management, financing, quality control and climate resilience.
