Lillifield Landcare Rainforest Revegetation Project

This project will eradicate an extensive mature infestation of Lantana camara (a Weed of National Significance) and revegetate Lillifield community land with a range of mixed local rainforest tree species. Trees will be sourced from a local nursery specialising in native species endemic to the area and the project will establish important habitat areas for local fauna, such as koalas, and improve the area as a biodiversity corridor between the world heritage listed Border Ranges and Nightcap National Parks. Local community members will be engaged through tree planting and information days, and a variety of media. These will raise community awareness of, and skills and knowledge in, revegetating the local rainforest.
