Functional Screening of Gcn4 orthologs for transcriptional activation domains

We computationally identified 502 diverse fungal orthologs of Gcn4. We computationally chopped these transcription factors into 40 amino acid over lapping tiles. We screened all of the tiles for transcriptional activation domain activity in S. cerevisiae using FACS sorting followed by sequencing. These data allow the study of how activation domain sequence controls function.
