Wyoming Vascular Plant Atlas

The purpose of this data layer is to allow the mapping of plant
species distributions. This data should be viewed with extreme
caution due to inaccuracies associated with the difficulty of
assigning localities based upon sometimes vague locational
descriptions, and is further compounded by inaccuracies in
computing locations based upon township-range-section. Moreover,
data entry has not been rigorously quality-controlled, and some
errors may thus be present in the data itself.

Contains ca 9000 points representing Wyoming collection sites
for plant specimens in the collections of the Rocky Mountain
Herbarium (RM). The point coverage is tied to a database of about
190,000 records representing about 1/4 of the holdings of the RM.
Collection dates for these records range from the 1860's to 1997,
and collections sites are located in general to the nearest section,
although the locations of most sites are at best approximate.
