CD8 T cells stimulation with high grade serous ovarian carcinoma ascites

Ovarian cancer is the most lethal gynecological malignancy with approximately 60.000 new cases annually in the United States and the European Union. Several observations indicate that the immune system plays a crucial role in ovarian cancer. Thus, an increased accumulation of intratumoral T cells delays recurrence of the disease. Among infiltrating T cells, CD8+ T cells are associated with a better prognosis. However, the ovarian cancer environment impairs the anti-tumor function of CD8+ T cells through inhibitory signaling pathways. Then we stimulated CD8+ T cells from healthy donors by ascites samples from different clinical patients for 16hr.
