Single-cell RNA-sequencing on muscle and adipose tissue resident cells from normal and septic mice

Single-cell RNA-sequencing was done on viable cells from skeletal muscle and visceral adipose tissue from normal (healthy) mice and septic mice (one day or one month post-sepsis). The tissue-resident cells were prepared by mechanical and enzymatic dissociation of both tissues followed by fluorescence activated cell sorting. Septic mice were prepared by intraperitoneal injection of fecal slurry solution. Droplet-based single cell RNA-sequencing (10X Genomics) was employed for this study.
