Techniques and Plants: Grassland Dataset

The study was conducted by Navdip, Dorsah, Carmen and Shelly. The study was conducted at York University at the pond near the Osgoode building, on Monday September 22 2014. The weather was partly cloudy and slightly windy. The study was conducted in the afternoon between 2:45 and 3:30. The method used to conduct the study was to use a transect tape. It opened to 82 feet (25 meter) and placed randomly on the grassland and was walked along the tape, to locate a specific plant, milkweed, throughout the tape. Carmen helped determine the distance of the milkweed and the height of the plant, while the number of leaves, flowers and fruit was recorded. Shelly Narad
