These datasets are for the feasibility study of ramie-based eco-materials for geo-bags in temporary dykes as temporary coastal protection structures. The study's background is that coastal erosion poses a significant global threat, including in the Northern Java coastal area. Hybrid coastal protection, which combines mangrove forests and temporary Ramie-based geo-bag dykes, is proposed as a sustainable solution. This approach can reduce carbon footprint and waste, protect vulnerable mangrove seedlings in the early stages of growth, and take advantage of Ramie's unique status as a strategic raw commodity in Indonesia. The study examined the potential of ramie fibers, which are 0.28 mm thick, as an environmentally friendly material for geo-bags. This was done through laboratory tests and biodegradability burial tests, and by comparing the fibers to other natural options.
