Shellfish stable isotope data Jakolof Bay, Alaska, 2023

Samples were collected from an oyster farm in Jakolof Bay, Alaska on 21 April, 18 June, 19 August, and 6 December 2023. Oysters (Crassostrea gigas) were purchased from this small-scale oyster farm while mussels (Mytilus trossulus) were collected haphazardly in the immediate intertidal or biofouling the farm. Triplicate particulate organic matter samples (2 Liters) were taken in the farm during each field collection to estimate the availability of food sources to the shellfish. Dominant macroalgae and terrestrial organic matter were collected in each timepoint. We trawled for zooplankton around the farm using a plankton net and extracted the copepods to use as a zooplankton endmember, and converted it to a phytoplankton endmember after deducting a trophic discrimination factor. All of this data is included in a .csv file with the carbon and nitrogen bulk stable isotopes and concentrations of all samples, as well as the shell size and dry weight of the shellfish.
