Vessel-ESS: A Public Dataset for Engine Sweet Spot Analysis

This dataset contains the public data accompanying the research paper: "Data-Driven Discovery of the Engine Speed Sweet Spot for Enhanced Fuel Efficiency: An Interpretable Analysis Across Vessel Types."The data provided here is sufficient to reproduce all figures and key quantitative results presented in the manuscript. It includes anonymized time-series data for model predictions (fuel consumption, RPM), prediction error distributions, SHAP (SHapley Additive exPlanations) values for feature importance analysis, and data points illustrating the relationship between engine RPM and fuel efficiency.The full, raw operational dataset is proprietary and not publicly available due to commercial confidentiality. This public subset is shared to promote open science and allow for the verification and replication of our findings. This work is part of "the 'Vessel-Opti' research project," conducted in collaboration with Shanghai Jiao Tong University and COSCO Shipping.
