资源简介:
This dataset is comprised of data that can be used to determine resting metabolic rate and response to hypoxia in in four populations of Gulf killifish (Fundulus grandis) embryos. Two of these populations have been identified to be resistant to cardiac teratogenicity (Vince Bayou - VB and Paul bayou - PB) associated with exposure to polyaromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) Two reference populations (Gang's bayou - GB and Smith Point - SP)were utilized for comparison. All data is in spreadsheet format. Declining oxygen, as organisms consumed oxygen, are reported for each population in millimoles oxygen in each 3 ml chamber. Mass and times of measurement are reported for calculation of metabolic rate as the rate of oxygen consumption per mass of each animal per unit time. Response to hypoxia is reported as time until larvae lost equilibrium during exposure to severe hypoxia. Response to hypoxia can be calculated as the time until loss of equilibrium per mass of the animal. Mass of larvae is reported to standardize for size differences in size.
