This dataset provides information about the current administrative regions in Europe. Original data sources include ISTAT and Eurostat data. Each state in Europe is composed of administrative regions that may be divided into sub-regions. For example, Italy is divided into macro-regions, which are divided into regions, which are divided into provinces, which are divided into municipalities and so on. The Italian Administrative Regions come from ISTAT, and are updated to 2011. The Administrative Regions of the other European countries come from Eurostat and are up-to-date as of 2010.
