Mycorrhizal fungal communities of seedlings planted into 2004 wildfire burn scars in Alaska

In 2005, Picea mariana, Picea glauca, Populus tremuloides, and Pinus contorta var. latifolia seedlings were planted into 22 sites that burned in 2004 in Interior Alaska in 10 replicate blocks. In 2011 and 2013 the seedlings and several root lengths were harvested. 12 mycorrhizal root tips from each seedling (n=458) were randomly chosen, DNA was extracted using Qiagen DNEasy Plant Mini kits and sequenced with ITS4_Fun and 5.8S_Fun primers.
