VPRS 4099 Cash Book: Rats Received For Destruction. Corporation Storeyard Lonsdale Street West

This series records sums paid by the Melbourne Council (VA 511) to individuals who brought rats to the "Corporation Storeyard, Lonsdale Street W (assumed to mean Lonsdale Street West) to enable their destruction. During the period covered by the sole volume in custody, individuals were initially paid two pence per rat which was subsequently raised to three pence and then sixpence.Entries in this volume record the date of payment, name of the individual, their address, the amount paid and their signature.The existence of other volumes is unknown.
