The multiple cropping index is an important parameter for the evaluation of cultivated land fertility and agroecological evaluation. The development of remote sensing technology makes it possible to monitor the multiple cropping index with high temporal and spatial resolution. Based on Sentinel-2 data, this paper uses the Savitzky-Golay filtering method and the quadratic difference method to carry out a research on the extraction method of the multiple cropping index in Hainan Island, and combines the ground sample data in 2020 for verification. A dataset of cropland multiple cropping index in Hainan Island in 2020. The overall accuracy of the multiple cropping index of Hainan Island in 2020 obtained by remote sensing extraction by this method is 91.9%, and the Kappa coefficient is 0.9. This dataset can be used as the basic data for the analysis of temporal and spatial changes of cultivated land in Hainan, and it can also provide data and decision support for Hainan Province to carry out the supervision of agricultural ecological resources and implement the sustainable development strategy of tropical high-efficiency agriculture.
