Assessment of magmatic fertility using pXRF on altered rocks from the Ordovician Macquarie Arc, New South Wales

Whole rock geochemical data pertaining to the Australian Journal of Earth Sciences publication "Assessment of magmatic fertility using pXRF on altered rocks from the Ordovician Macquarie Arc, New South Wales". These data include the data source, unique sample ID, sample type and location in 3 dimensions (where applicable) as well as major and trace element geochemistry from the Ordovician intrusive rocks in the Northparkes district as well as a global geochemical reference suite and selected samples from across the Lachlan Fold Belt of eastern Australia. The ratios used in the magmatic fertility study are included in these data. Samples were collected from the Northparkes core library and from the broader district. Geochemical analyses were conducted at various labs and research facilities. All portable X-ray Fluorescence analyses were conducted at CODES - University of Tasmania using an Olympus Vanta M series pXRF with a Rh tube. Data generated by this study were compiled with data from numerous thesis and publications in order to provide a robust data set. Four data files (.xslx) in this set include the Northparkes geochemical data, Geological Survey of New South Wales data compilation, a selected compilation of global porphyry geochemical data compilation from fertile and barren intrusive suites across the globe, and NSW regional pXRF analyses.
