Global value of merger and acquisition deals 2017-2023, by region

In 2023, merger and acquisition (M&A) transactions completed in North America reached a value of around 1.7 trillion U.S. dollars, down from almost four trillion in 2021. In terms of volume, North America and Western Europe accounted for the highest volume of deals.
