Exome sequencing of dilated cardiomyopathy

Dilated cardiomyopathy is a severe disease with a dismal prognosis that can lead to heart failure requiring a transplant or patient death. However, the genetic mechanisms underlying the disease are still unclear. To explore the pathogenesis of dilated cardiomyopathy, we recruited 198 patients (142 patients with DCM and 56 controls) and exome sequencing was performed using the peripheral whole blood samples obtained from the participants.In total, 2 samples (2 patients in DCM group) were excluded from further analysis due to poor quality.
