This dataset accompanies the manuscript "Decomposition of Aged Sedimentary Organic Matter in a Deep Temperate Lake Under Warming Conditions An Experimental Approach" published in Water Research. https://doi.org/10.1016/j.watres.2026.125740It contains the results of incubation experiments conducted at five different temperatures using undisturbed sediment cores from Lake Biwa, Japan. The dataset includes: Dissolved inorganic carbon (DIC) fluxes measured under different temperature treatments Radiocarbon (Δ¹⁴C) values of DIC in overlying water before and after incubation Radiocarbon mesurement results All data are provided in Excel format with accompanying metadata to facilitate reuse.
