This data product was produced via digitization based on the monograph *Inner Mongolia Ordos Station (2004–2006)* from the *Grassland and Desert Ecosystems* volume of the *China Ecosystem Fixed Observation and Research Dataset Series*, through refining metadata and associating it with physical observational data. This dataset records soil monitoring data from Ordos Station during 2004–2005, including surface soil exchange capacity, soil nutrients, total soil mineral elements, soil trace elements and heavy metals, soil mechanical composition, soil bulk density, and corresponding soil physical and chemical analysis methods. This data product also includes relevant documents such as introductions to Ordos Station and its observation sites.
