Behavioral Risk Factor Surveillance System (BRFSS)

The CDC BRFSS is a collection of health-related surveys regarding health-related risk behaviors, chronic health conditions, and the use of preventative services. The BRFSS data is primarily collected from telephone surveys issued at the state level. BRFSS was established in 1984 with 15 states and now includes all 50 states, three US territories, and the District of Columbia. BRFSS conducts more than 400,000 adult interviews each year and is considered one of the largest continuously conducted health surveys in the world.
