Systematics of Marina, Fabaceae

To better understand species circumscriptions in the genus Marina (Fabaceae) and identify centers of biodiversity, we are using a phylogenetic framework to examine taxonomy. Our phylogenomic approach led to the discovery of previously undetected species of Marina, most of which come from a radiation of 14 species almost entirely restricted to the Baja California peninsula each with an age estimate of mostly less than 2 Ma.
