Research progress on the regulation of zeolite and mesoporous silica synthesis by inorganic ions

As two core categories of porous materials, zeolite and mesoporous silica are widely applied in fields such as catalysis, adsorption, and separation due to their unique pore structures and surface properties. It is crucial to regulate their structure and composition to achieve a precise design of material performance. Introducing inorganic ions (including cations and anions) into the synthesis system offers an effective route to tailor product morphology, composition, and phase selectivity. This review systematically elaborates on the roles and mechanisms of inorganic ions in the synthesis of these materials and provides an outlook on future development directions in this field.
