Direct-Detection Receiver for 16-QAM Modulated Signals (ECOC 2024, Bekele et al.) - BER measurement data

Back-to-back BER measurements for a silicon photonic direct-detection receiver that decodes star-16QAM signals. The receiver splits the incoming signal into a phase detection branch (SOA + ring resonator, producing PAM7) and an intensity detection branch (producing PAM4). Four experimental conditions are provided, each as a power sweep at 10 Gbd over 0 km fiber. For each power step the dataset contains the raw oscilloscope waveform (time vs voltage, 80 GSa/s, ~248 MB per file) and the post-DSP BER/SER/SNR result. This dataset supports Figure 3(c) of the associated ECOC 2024 paper (DOI: 10.5281/zenodo.20429477). A codebook (ECOC2024_BER_dataset_codebook.yaml) is included with full variable definitions and instrument details.
