Bacterial endophytic microbiome of Cistanche armena and C.phelypaea seeds

The current study investigates the endophytic bacterial community diversity associated with the seeds of the holoparasitic endemic plant species Cistanche armena and C. phelypaea, from Western Europe vs Western Asia, both from saline habitats, but differing in soil water status, semi-deserts vs flooded coasts. To the best of our knowledge that is the first report about seed endophytes of the holoparasitic plant species Cistanche armena and C. phelypaea.
