Auralisations of reconstructed salle du roi 14th-century Louvre
收藏资源简介:
This dataset contains auralisations of the reconstructed soundscape of the salle du roi in the 14th-century Louvre, Paris, the main hall (ca. 18 x 8 x 12 meters) within King Charles V's apartment. The dataset includes various sound samples that have been processed to simulate the soundscape of the salle du roi, featuring different acoustic qualities. The first involves the recitation of text (Machaut’s rondeau Se vous n’estes pour mon guerredon née), the second a tutti performance of Machaut’s virelai Mors sui. Accompanying metadata files provide detailed information about each sound file, including the specific scenario, the placement of sound sources and receivers, and the acoustic parameters used in the simulation. The content of this dataset originates from the MA thesis (Engineering Architecture) of Vincent Vanhamme, titled 'Sounding Valois Architecture: Exploring Charles V’s Louvre through Historical Reconstruction and Sensory Perception’. The thesis was supervised by Prof. Krista De Jonge, Prof. Merlijn Hurx and Prof. Monika Rychtarikova at the Department of Architecture, Faculty of Engineering Sciences, KU Leuven (2023-2024).
