Comparative tests were performed to assess the effect of two light sources (artificial and natural) on the microalgae cultivation and the treatment of the liquid digestate in photobioreactors. Each experimental run was performed for 90 days. Twice a week digestate effluent was collected for chemical and biological analyses. At the end of the experimental runs, the samples of liquid digestate were collected for metagenomic studies.
