Dataset for: An Observational Perspective on Precipitation Efficiency of Mesoscale Convective Systems over the Asian Monsoon Region
收藏资源简介:
This dataset supports the manuscript “An Observational Perspective on Precipitation Efficiency of Mesoscale Convective Systems over the Asian Monsoon Region.” The dataset contains precipitation efficiency calculations for mesoscale convective systems (MCSs) tracked over the Asian Monsoon Region (55°–115°E, 5°S–40°N). MCS identification was performed using the PyFLEXTRKR tracking algorithm applied to GPM IMERG precipitation and satellite brightness temperature fields. Precipitation efficiency (ε) is calculated as: ε = Ṗ / CWP where: Ṗ is the precipitation rate from GPM IMERG CWP is the cloud water path derived from ERA5 liquid water path (LWP) and ice water path (IWP). The dataset includes: Pixel-level precipitation fields for tracked MCSs MCS track statistics Cloud water path components (LWP, IWP) Computed precipitation efficiency metrics (ε_cwp, ε_i, ε_l) Lifecycle-binned precipitation efficiency diagnostics All datasets are provided in NetCDF format and can be processed using Python libraries such as xarray, numpy, and netCDF4. The data correspond to the Asian Monsoon region (AMA) and are intended for reproducibility of the analysis presented in the manuscript.
