Gene expression analysis using RNA-Seq of pustular skin diseases

The clinical and histopathological features of generalized pustular psoriasis (GPP), a rare but severe neutrophilic condition, overlap with those of acute generalized exanthematous pustulosis (AGEP), making a rapid and reliable distinction difficult. The aim of this study was to elucidate the molecular features of AGEP and GPP in order to identify potential diagnostic biomarkers. Overall design: Molecular differences of generalized pustular psoriasis (GPP) and acute generalized exanthematous pustulosis (AGEP), compared to palmoplantar pustulosis (PPP), plaque-psoriasis (PSO) and cutaneous adverse drug reactions (ADR) were investigated using RNA-Sequencing of RNA isolated from lesional FFPE skin biopsy samples.
