Larval and juvenile blue crab lowered pH growth and survival experiments

This study experimentally investigated the effects of lower pH on larval and juvenile blue crabs, Callinectes sapidus, through laboratory experiments. We used a lowered pH of 7.8; the average surface ocean pH predicted by 2100 by Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change, compared to a control pH of 8.2. Size and mortality were recorded as well as intermolt duration and hardness for the juveniles.
