Impact of Candida utilis as a protein source on intestinal microbiota in weaner piglets

This study investigated the effect of Candida utilis protein in a weaner pig diet on the small and large intestinal microbiota, colonic short-chain fatty acid concentration, and colonic histopathology parameters. Seventy-two pigs weaned at 28th postnatal day were randomly assigned to either control or C. utilis protein diet and followed up for 2 weeks.
