The Parking Advisory Committee was established in December 1954 to advise the Minister for Transport and the Minister for Local Government on the parking of vehicles, allocation of kerb-space and the free movement of pedestrian and vehicular traffic in Sydney. The bulk of these papers are from the Technical Sub-committee which reviewed traffic conditions and investigated specific requests for changes to traffic, bus routes or parking. It supervised the changeover from trams to buses in the inner city. Reports contain plans and some photographs, surveys of bus and tram usage, and include reports from sub-committees in such areas as North Sydney, Woollahra and Willoughby. (10/30557-73). 17 boxes.
