UDP - Total GDP by metro regions, 2000 - 2060 (JRC LUISA Reference Scenario 2016)

Historical (observations) data and projections (modelled) of total GDP in purchasing power parities (PPS) per metro region. Historical regional data of GVA were extracted from EUROSTAT's online database and missing data were calculated in order to complete the historical series. Data were then converted to GDP in PPS with factors of purchasing power parities (PPPs) extrapolated from historical values from EUROSTAT. Projection data were calculated assuming a trend scenario where past regional sector growth rates converge linearly to national sector growth rates in 2035, and from 2035 onwards, each sector grows at the same pace in all regions within each country. Projections were finally rescaled in order to respect country totals from the reference DG ECFIN projections.
