<p>This article examines the impact of social media platforms and artificial intelligence (AI) technologies on the construction of digital identities and communication. It explores how platforms such as YouTube influence the creation, expression, and perception of identities while discussing the role of AI algorithms in shaping these interactions. The research adopts a three-dimensional comparative approach, analyzing audiovisual content from the perspectives of content creators, peers, and AI tools, with a particular focus on films produced in audiovisual workshops supervised in an academic research environment.</p> <p>The findings reveal relevant divergences between human and automated categorizations, highlighting the influence of AI-based recommendation algorithms on public visibility and the formation of social narratives. The study identifies inherent biases and limitations in these tools, which can reinforce stereotypes, promote polarization in public debate, disseminate unreliable information, and limit the diversity of perspectives among authors and users through opaque and poorly understood criteria. The article advocates for greater transparency and control over algorithmic decision-making processes and recommends policy measures to ensure fairer and more inclusive digital environments. This research aims to contribute to digital sociology, media studies, and policy debates by proposing innovative methodologies to better understand the complexities of identity construction in digital spaces.</p>
