Methylophaga nitratireducenticrescens strain:JAM1 Transcriptome or Gene expression

We studied the contribution of two nitrate reductase in the nitrate-reducing bacteria Mehylophaga nitratireducenticrescens JAM1. This marine and unique bacterial strain possesses two different operons coding for a membrane-bound nitrate reductase (Nar), which is rare among bacteria. Knockout mutations demonstrated that both nitrate reductases contributes to the system but at different levels. The transcriptome of the wild type strain was derived in order to complete the expression pattern of Methylophaga nitratireducenticrescens. These results provide new elements on the importance and function of the dual nitrate reducing system of JAM1.
