Metagenomic datasets of deep subsurface microbiome (Polkowice-Sieroszowice mine)

Results of high-throughput DNA sequencing of microbiom inhabiting a kerogen-rich shale rock (Kupferschiefer; Fore-Sudetic Monocline)Sequencing was performed on an Illumina NovaSeq 6000 instrument using NovaSeq 6000 SP Reagent Kit v 1.5 (500 cycles) (Illumina, cat. no. 20028402), in pair-end 2×250 cycle read mode using the standard procedure recommended by the manufacturer with a 1% addition of Phix control library (Illumina, cat. no. FC-110-3002). The files contain the resulting sequences in FASTQ format (in compressed .fastq.gz form). The data includes the sequencing output files generated by the sequencer, including configuration files and read sequences in BCL binary format. R1 and R2 denote the first and second pair-end mode reads, respectively.The sequencing yielded high-quality data (over 90% of bases with a Phred Score exceeding Q30) in the amount of 36.8 to 66.4 MR.
