The papers comprise:1. Return of all Mechanics discharged from the Lumber Yard, Sydney, 1 December 1831-2 February 1832, distinguishing the purposes for which they were discharged and also showing the number now in Government employ therein, 2 February 1832. 2. V. Lachlan to E. Deas Thomson, 31 December 1832. Re arrival and departure of convict ships.3. Instructions for filling up the Returns for the Census of 1833. 4. Francis Forbes to the Governor, 20 May and 1 July 1833. Enclosing reports of prisoners tried before him during the previous week and sentenced to death - William Jeffries, James Pearce, Patrick Nagle, Robert Mullen and William Jones. 5. T.C. Harington to Thomson, 23 August and 9 October 1833. Re inclusion in his contingent account of £15.16.0 for parchment; and estimates of stationery he may require during 1834, distinguishing between that available in the colony and that which had to be obtained from England. 6. Papers re Joshua Thorpe's appeal for a road, under the New Road Act, from his property on the south bank of Cook's River, Parish of St George, to Sydney through the Parish of Petersham, 17 September 1833-4 February 1834. 7. W.H. Chapman to Thomson, 10 March 1834. Objecting to extension of road in Surry Hills as it encroaches on his land. 8. Petition of Robert Forrister, 25 May 1833, for mitigation of sentence. Laid before the Executive Council, 1 July 1833.9. Petitions of Mary Norris and John Norris, 5 May and 27 May 1833. For consideration of his sentence. Laid before the Executive Council, 1 July 1833. 10. Petition from Catherine McNalty, 27 May 1833. Petition against death sentence on her son John. Laid before the Executive Council, 1 July 1833. 11. Plans of the existing railways and of the proposed extension of them upon the estate of the Australian Agricultural Company at Newcastle, 1857.
