Invasive plant species in the Horn of Africa

A total of 250 invasive species from 63 families were documented, with Fabaceae, Asteraceae, and Poaceae being the most represented. Herbs were the dominant growth form, and most species originated from the Neotropics or Africa. Kenya and Ethiopia recorded the highest numbers of invasive species, whereas Djibouti and Eritrea had the fewest.
