Chlorophyll a, macronutrient concentrations, and photosynthetically active radiation measured during the Umitaka-maru cruise of the 64th Japanese Antarctic Research Expedition (JARE64), January-February 2023

This dataset contains chlorophyll (Chl) a and macronutrient (nitrate, nitrite, phosphate and silicic acid) concentrations and photosynthetically active radiation (PAR) during he T/V Umitaka-maru cruise in the 2022/23 season as part of he monitoring program of the Japanese Antarctic Research Expedition (JARE). Water samples were collected from the underway seawater supply twice a day and at multiple depths from select CTD (conductivity, temperature and depth) rosette deployments at 9 stations along 110 degree east. Chl. a and macronutrients (nitrate, nitrite, phosphate and silicic acid) concentrations were quality controled. PAR was measured continuously by a sensor mounted on the bridge of the ship.
