Magnetic shape memory alloys (MSMAs) have gained immense attention due to their technologically important properties, which are closely linked with the magnetostructural phase transition. In this proposed experiment, our aim is to investigate the magnetic structure in the paramagnetic gap of Ni2Mn1.4In0.6 MSMA using temperature-dependent neutron diffraction. The measurements will be done in the temperature range of 10 K to 400 K during heating. Our initial results of muon spin relaxation measurements indicate a spin ordered state in the paramagnetic gap of Ni2Mn1.4In0.6 MSMA and neutron diffraction is necessary to establish the magnetic ground state of the martensite phase.
