资源简介:
On May 24, 2002, a General Conservation Assessment Survey and exhibits survey was undertaken to determine the conservation needs for the collections at the Slide Rock State Park (SRSP). The Heritage Preservation awarded the survey with funding from the Institute for Museum and Library Services (IMLS). The Conservation Assessment Program (CAP) included a one-day, on-site visit by a collections conservator with an exhibits planner/designer, and a separate visit by an architect familiar with historic preservation. This collections/exhibit survey assessment and report should be a useful tool for preparing a long range conservation plan, establishing overall priorities for the environment, storage, and exhibition areas, and may influence ongoing policies and procedure development for care of the facilities and collections. The focus of the collections site visit included discussions related to the potential of the site buildings for exhibition/interpretation and storage as related to environmental factors such as temperature and relative humidity controls and monitor procedures; light sources and levels of illuminance and ultraviolet radiation; and methods and strategies for exhibition and storage of the collections. Mr. Michael Freisinger, Museum Curator for Arizona State Parks arranged for the CAP and was present during the survey visit. Also Ms. Barbie Hart, Interpretive-Education Coordinator for the Northern Region accompanied us on the survey. Additionally, the on-site Park were introduced and were available if necessary to answer questions.
