CyL renewables: Wildlife Environmental Sensitivity

Environmental sensitivity to wind and solar energy production facilities in the context of recovery/conservation plans for endangered fauna species in Castilla y León.

Within the geographical scope of Castilla y León there are five recovery or conservation plans for endangered species: recovery plans for the Cantabrian capercaillie, the Iberian imperial eagle, the black cigeña and the brown bear, and the conservation plan for the partridge eagle, all approved by decree of the Junta de Castilla y León.

These plans establish limitations for renewable energy production facilities and their evacuation lines, in addition to the express exclusions contained in those plans.

* The submission of this information does not replace the relevant procedures for environmental impact assessment of projects or prejudge the results of the corresponding environmental impact statements, since they are offered only to facilitate an early assessment from the first stages of defining a potential renewable energy project on the condition of a specific group of species with high environmental sensitivity.
