Unspecific peroxygenase enzyme sequences curated by PSI-BLAST, InterProScan fold filtering, and catalytic motif conservation

Unspecific peroxygenase (UPO) sequences compiled through a multi-stage process:Literature-derived sequences from Hofrichter et al. (2022) were combined with additional UPO sequences obtained in OxyLipids national project (TED2021-129264B-C31/MICIU/AEI/10.13039/501100011033/European Union NextGenerationEU/PRTR) through hidden Markov model (HMM) searches.This combined seed set was used to perform PSI-BLAST searches against UniProtKB/TrEMBL, run for multiple iterations to expand the sequence set.All resulting sequences were annotated with InterProScan, and only those assigned to the Chloroperoxidase-like superfamily fold were retained.Sequences were further filtered to ensure the presence of the PCP motif around the coordinating cysteine and a conserved catalytic salt bridge typical of UPOs.
