The complete chloroplast genome and phylogenetic analysis of Stewartia sichuanensis

Stewartia sichuanensis is a rare plant species of Theaceae and is endemic to China. Its distribution area is highly restricted, and its genomic information is entirely unknown. The present study reports the first complete chloroplast of S. sichuanensis. The phylogenetic analysis suggested close affinities among S. sichuanensis, S. laotica, and S. pteropetiolata. This study provides valuable genomic resources of S. sichuanensis and paves the way for future Stewartia evolution research.
