Climate Friendly Areas are part of Oregon’s statewide Climate Friendly and Equitable Communities (CFEC) rules, which require cities with populations over 50,000 to update land use and transportation plans to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and support equitable development. [bendoregon.gov] The City of Bend is evaluating multiple candidate areas (approximately 10 study locations), with an anticipated total designation of roughly 275–350 acres of CFAs by 2029. [bendoregon.gov] These areas are generally located: Near downtown and existing employment centers Along major transportation corridors In opportunity areas with redevelopment potential [bendoregon.gov] This layer provides a spatial representation of those study areas for planning, analysis, and public communication.
