NRS-3691 | Dairymen registration files - Nowra District

These files consist of: applications for the granting or transfer of a quota; certificates of registration; applications for renewals; inspectors' reports; and correspondence. They record the following information: name; address; factory supplied; area of farm; area under cultivation; details of herd; details of labour employed; grade of milk; machine or hand milked; details of irrigation; and details of fodder conservation. The files can also contain details of prosecutions. Dairies are registered under the names of individuals, but each different dairy is registered separately (eg. if a dairyman is responsible for two dairies, each dairy is registered separately). The files are arranged alphabetically according to location and then by dairyman or company name. They are additional to the main series of files which were maintained centrally.
